Dawn has explored this technique in her two books (see separate reviews) and in this DVD you can see her in action. Dawn creates traditional quilts using her machine and her fabulous invisible technique. In this way she creates that sought-after handmade look.
This DVD covers getting started, preparing your machine, other uses for invisible stitch, designing and troubleshooting. Dawn has a chatty style and the DVD is filmed at home – you feel like you have popped in for coffee and are treated to a two-hour lesson with your neighbour.
Find out everything you need to know to start IMA quilting. Dawn is very thorough, but a little repetitive and I could not help feeing that this, would have benefited from some sharp editing to cut it down by 30 minutes. Given that you can repeat chapters and replay, I thought the repetition unnecessary.
This is an excellent DVD and will teach you things you probably do not know. It is professionally produced, by the sound quality suffers a little from background noise in places. If you like traditional quilting and you are interested in tis technique, why wouldn’t you be? Then this is the DVD for you. Dawn’s finished quilts are inspiring and a testimony to her many skills.
