First, let me say we are no relation, although we share the same surname. I found this book a huge disappointment. I expect a second edition book to be just about perfect in every respect. There are far too many irrelevant photographs in this book – a sign of poor editing. Furthermore, many of the photos that should be appropriate are out of focus or badly taken.

In addition the book is not at all as comprehensive as it should be. I have been researching lavender for several years in preparation for my own book – keep your eye on what’s new on the main website. So I know how much has been missed out in this book and its a shame.

The growing section is fair, it is written from the author’s personal experience, so is limited mainly to the New York area. The projects are useful but limited too. In all I would give this a miss, there are better lavender books on the market.
