The best way to describe Tunisian crochet is knitting on a crochet hook! Tunisian crochet, also known as Afghan stitch for its dense quality has often been used to create afghans. This book takes Tunisian crochet beyond those boundaries into the realm of fashion and home accessories. The book assumes that the reader is familiar with the basic crochet stitches. There are good, illustrated step-by-step instructions to get you started.
By and large, the patterns are good – I thought this book fell down on the afghan type typical use of Tunisian crochet, the fashion projects are more acceptable. I particularly like the front cover top and the shawls, scarves and wraps. Sixteen projects are included altogether. It goes some way to breaking the mould and turning this one-horse pony into a star, but it does not reach the giddy heights of high fashion.
