This knitting book contains 12 patterns inspired by Japan. The patterns are presented month by month and are accompanied by images of Japan through the seasons. The book is subtitled ‘East Meets West in Innovative Knitwear Design’. The patterns are very wearable and feature many knitting techniques. However you might be more inspired by the photos of Japan in the book to design something more Japanese inspired yourself, for this really is a Western knitting book. If you saw the patterns isolated, I doubt that in most cases you would make the connection between them and anything Japanese. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, the photography is superb, the pattens varied. It is a nicely presented, 144 page book full of modern knitting patterns, but if you are looking for something with a taste of Japan, I think you are going to be disappointed.
