From French copperplate prints depicting idyllic country scenes to colourful mid twentieth century reproductions, this book is fascinating. The toile designs are not just the traditional blue or red either. I prefer the more traditional patterns and there are plenty within these pages. The toiles are presented in chapters, divided by theme such as classical, American and so on. This is an excellent book for textile designers, lovers of all things French and an excellent catalogue of toile designs.
