Gardens of Belgium 2009
Based in Gent, this tour explores some of the finest gardens of Belgium. Enjoy the tremendous variety of gardens on offer from chateaux to arboretums. We stay at the four star Hotel Harmony in Gent on a bed and breakfast basis. This tour can be taken in conjunction with the Gardens of Holland, including private canal gardens.

Itinerary
Day 1: Monday 8 June
Arrive in Brussels meet at the airport or hotel. After lunch on your own, we visit the Van Buuren Museum and gardens, Brussels and some of the Wirtz public gardens. We drive to our hotel in Gent, the four star Hotel Harmony.
Day 2: Tuesday 9 June
This morning we take a coach tour to the water and flower gardens of Annevoie. From here we take a river cruise with a buffet meal provided and travel down the river to Le Chateau de Freyr, on the left bank of the Meuse. We take the cable car for a guided tour of the Citadelle.
Day 3: Wednesday 10 June
We drive to Antwerp to visit Rubenshuis, Kruidtuin and the famous Arboretum Kalmthout
Day 4: Thursday 11 June
We leave this morning for Chateau of Beloeil and its extensive gardens with a spectacular large ornamental lake in front of the house. After lunch in the restaurant (maybe at Shamrock) we continue to a private garden near Bruges, free time in Bruges.
Day 5: Friday 12 June
You are free to explore Gent and we have optional visits to two private gardens in the area as well as Plantentuin all by public transport.
Day 6: Saturday 13 June
We travel to Liege for lunch on your own. In the afternoon we visit Kasteel Hex on one of its rare open days for the festival of roses and rare plants.
Day 7: Sunday 14 June
We set off on our return to the airport making a stop at the National Plantentuin near Brussels where you can get a snack in The Orangery, before our transfer to Brussels airport to return home or on to Holland by coach to continue the tour. If you do so the rest of your day is free when we arrive at our hotel in Amsterdam.
