Quilt Textile Art Landscape
An original Karen Platt quilt textile art landscape. A wall hanging of green fields and blue skies called ‘The Green Valleys’. This quilted picture depicts green fields with texture and variety. It is designed to be hung on the wall as a wall hanging to grace any wall in the home or office.
It brings back memories of days in the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales. If you love the countryside, I hope it brings back fond memories for you.
The fabrics used include both hand dyed and bought 100% cottons, silks, velvets, Lutradur, wool felt. The hand dyed fabrics are all dyed by me. The fabrics used for the binding and backing are cotton.
The quilt is also hand embellished with wool and silk. It is machine stitched throughout except for the binding, which is hand sewn to the reverse. Designed and made by Karen Platt. The design was inspired by my love of the English countryside.
A one-off original design and although similar designs can be made, I cannot exactly repeat this one. It comes with an original label on the back. It is part of a triptych – 3 pieces of work designed to hang together.
This quilted wall hanging measures 43 x 19 cm (17 x 8 inches) approx. A piece of handmade, stitched art.
