Workshop in situ Design Your Own Quilt – Cathedrals of France

Description

This workshop takes place in France at Sweet Nothings. I will be teaching the 6 day workshop in person. You will need to book through the provider. I have designed this course to take inspiration from the beautiful buildings in this area of France. Specifically we will be looking at Romanesque architecture and medieval paintings of this region of France. Be inspired by Romanesque architecture, columns, arches, doorways, wall paintings or stained-glass windows. Two fabulous outings are also included in the course so that you can discover the architecture and charmings towns of this region.

You’ll learn how to take inspiration from architecture and paintings and design your own unique quilt. You’ll be able to explore techniques and possibilities for designing your quilt. From your idea to a finished wall hanging. Amongst the techniques we will look at the principles of design, simple block making, quilting and piecing to create a unique quilt.

Design is within the reach of everyone and you’ll tap into your own creativity on this very special course. You will also learn how to apply the design principles to enable you to create further quilts of your own design. You do not need to know how to draw nor do you need any software. A camera is very useful if you do not intend to draw.

To book, please follow the link for Sweet nothings that will take you to the book page.

Spaces are limited, so please book early. I so look forward to meeting you.

Dates: 5-11th November 2018 if you need another date please ask. You can also join me on the following week when we will take inspiration from cave paintings in the area. This is a painting course on canvas and fabric.
