Four Month Retrospective 2020 Work So Far

A four month retrospective of work produced so far this year. There has been so much work, that I thought I would recap. The start of this year went well, then Covid 19 hit, (so far I am grateful not to have contracted it as I am self isolating) but I did get shingles and sciatica. Therefore precious little has been achieved this month. This four month retrospective looks at everything I have made from January to April with regard to art quilts and ebooks.

This month got off to a bang with a new ebook, charting the designs of my quilts so far. Each design is described and assessed by my cold and calculating eye!

The third travel inspiration ebook was launched – Marseille. Then the fourth – Lisbon. If that was not enough, the fifth one appeared too – Corfu.

There are still a few days to go. This month has already seen the launch of the sixth Travel Inspiration ebook – Athens.

The scrappy quilt is almost finished and that will see the launch of a new Scrap Quilt ebook.

All ecourses are now on craftcourses.com as well as my own website. Did I do well? I certainly produced a lot of work, which is available on the website under quilts or ebooks and there are always the ecourses too.

Quilting and Knitting This Week’s Makes

Quilting and Knitting this week has been rather slow going again owing to health, but I am slowly making progress with both machine and hand quilting as well as hand knitting. Yesterday evening I started painting for the first time in quite a while.

Quilting The Scrap Quilt

I have been continuing with the scrap quilt. At the moment I have all the vertical strips on for the sashing, on the front and back. I have just put the fourth horizontal sashing strip across the front. I hope to get the top quilted this week. In the evenings when able, I am making another Cathedral Windows panel. I am enjoying this much more than the machine sewing. I have one more to do and then three panels will be sewn together for a wall quilt.

Knitting

Thoroughly enjoying the hand knitting. I am really pleased with this design I created and it is knitting up quite quickly. I have finished the back and one front. This time next week, it should be nearing completion. No time to be bored during lockdown.

Writing

When I am not quilting and knitting, anyone who knows me, knows that I am writing books or ecourses. This week I have finished my sixth Travel Inspiration ebook. You can see them all here. The latest one is all about Athens and is based on my trip there in 2016. Virtual travel is becoming my thing! looking back at the images is a joy. As usual, I have created a number of artworks that are included in the ebook, inspired by my trip. So, what’s number seven? It’s Tunisia. I am also writing something that I am keeping under my hat for now. That’s all from my quilting and knitting blog this week.

New ebooks Quilting and Travel ebooks

New ebooks, two new ebooks have launched today in addition to my long list of ebooks already on the website. I had been writing my new quilting ebook for some months, dipping in and out, adding more quilts. This wonderful new ebook includes all the quilts I have made from 2015 when I made tentative steps in quilting, to 2019 as a fully fledged quilt designer.

However it is not just a pictorial book of my quilts, it is much more than that. It is a book to help quilters design their own quilts. It has over 130 images of inspiration, notes and guidelines on design and the finished quilt plus a critique of each quilt. Each of these areas are important if you are to become a successful quilt designer. It shows quilts of many kinds and how to design them.

So I hope that you will join me in my new project, the quilting ebook can be purchased here

It’s a great achievement to finish one new ebook, but I actually finished two! The second new ebook is my book of my journey to Marseille. It’s a step by step guide to where I went, what I saw, and how I felt about it all. Follow me and discover Marseille, not just the city but the coast and museums. This new ebook contains over 300 photos. So even if you are not planning a trip, but enjoy armchair travel, you can sit back and enjoy the photos. I spent a week in France’s second city and discovered all it has to offer. I now want to share this with you. This ebook can be purchased here

Next week I hope to show you some quilting, if I can stand on my leg to cut and sew, but that’s another story. If not, it’s knitting and writing, I might just finish the Improve Your Quilting ecourse x
